Information for reaching Salzburg and the APF 2026 venue.

Reaching Salzburg

Salzburg is located in the heart of Europe and is easily reachable by train, long-distance bus and airplane. While Salzburg has many direct connections, you can also travel via Vienna or Munich.

Access by Train

Salzburg main station is well connected to European neighbors. Moreover, it is both part of the Austrian train network and endpoint of the German train network. Therefore, it is reachable with the Klimaticket, Deutschlandticket or Bahncard 100 free of charge.

Check prices with the Austrian train providers ÖBB and Westbahn, as well as the German train provider DB.

Access by Long-Distance Bus

Salzburg is also part of the FlixBus network, for example with direct connections to:

  • Czech Republic, e.g. Prague
  • Germany, e.g. Munich, Berlin, Flensburg
  • Hungary, e.g. Budapest
  • Netherlands, e.g. Amsterdam
  • Slovenia, e.g. Ljubljana

Access by Airplane

Salzburg has its own airport with several flights to European capitals.

Moreover, as Salzburg is easily reachable via train from both Vienna and Munich, you can often find convenient connections via VIE or MUC.

Access to the Venue

The conference venue, Unipark Nonntal, is close to the city center. It can be reached by foot, about a 5 minute walk from Salzburg Cathedral, or with public transport via the bus stop Justizgebäude.

Mobility in Salzburg

Within Salzburg, the guest mobility ticket is granted for all overnight guests and gives access to public transport within the entire province of Salzburg.

The ticket allows travel on city and regional buses, suburban trains, regional and long-distance trains, as well as micro public transport connections, ensuring sustainable, stress-free mobility within Salzburg.

The ticket is financed by a mobility charge of 0.50 € per night. The contribution is added to the accommodation tax, and the revenues are earmarked for public transport.
