Maria Owczarek

Maria is a Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Education Department at the Polish Data Protection Authority (UODO), where she has been working since 2018.
After graduating in law from the University of Warsaw, she completed postgraduate studies in the field of personal data protection and classified information at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. She is a PhD student at the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she is preparing a thesis on joint controllership in public administration under the GDPR.
Maria represents UODO in the work of the European Data Protection Board, the Council of Europe's Consultative Committee of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (T-PD Committee) and the Working Party on Information Exchange and Data Protection of the Council of the European Union.
Maria has been a member of the APF Program Committee since 2023.
