Getting around in Karlstad

Karlstad has a very convenient public bus transportation system, operated by Värmlandstrafik. Getting from the city center (station “Stora Torget”) to the university (station “Universitetet”) takes 10-20 minutes, with the following bus lines:

• Bus line 1 in the direction of “Campus”,
• Bus line 2 in the direction of “Välsviken”,
• Bus line 3 in the direction of “Universitetet”.

Tickets can be purchased in advance, either via the website or in the Värmlandstrafiken app, or they can be paid on the bus by credit card. Please note that Sweden is almost cash-free, so it is not possible to buy bus tickets with cash (neither Euro nor Swedish crowns). All APF events will be held at the university.
